Smile Back again!

Back story: My wife lost her great paying job a couple of years ago, and last year we had to sell our '07 Ram.

Just last week, her Uncle passed away, and we have inerited his 2001 Ram 1500 club cab SLT 4X4 with the 5.2L & auto trans, 285/75/16 BFG AT's, chrome step bars & dimond plate trimmed bedrails & tailgate cover. Has 120,xxx HARD miles on it. I need to replace the front brakes ( Pads, rotors, callipers & all I'm sure from the way it sounds). Engine oil was not even touching the dipstick, air filter was stopped up & black, spark plugs LOOK like they are orriginal, if not, at least 75xxx + miles on them. HOWEVER, the truck does not smoke, shifts out good, and outside looks fantastic for it's age.

Other than a bumper to bumper mantenece, it's good to go.

What can I do to improve it's log waggon ride? New shocks? Remove a leaf spring or two? Both maybe?
Who makes a soft riding shock?

Also want to replace the front seat. It has lost almost all of it's cusioning and is hard & flat as a pine board.

Sounds like you need to spend some money doing normal maintenance and a couple trips to the JY. As far as shocks go, JMHO but I like monroe gas magnum's.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Welcome back to the forum.

-Fix the plenum gasket with the hughes kit. Visit www.hughesengines.com
If you fix the plenum, do a tune up while youre under the hood. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, etc.
-Change the tranny fluid and filter

ever looked back on your own threads and thought "OH! I never updated that!"
Not that it matters, or likely anyone who replied to this original post some FIVE years
ago is still in here! :-D But, to bring some closure to this thread, even though I have revived it just to kill it, hahahaha! Anywhooo, we did not keep that Ram long at all. 5 years ago we were in a bit of a hurt for money. And we were offered $6500 for the Ram and sold it. I think I drove it maybe 3 months. Well, no matter since I have bought another one now. :-D
