400 horese on a 4 banger would be some serious work, it can be done but is not cheap, seen some hondas around here with a 200 shot that are rockets but the guys have a ton of money into them. one guy i know could build 2 408's for what hes got in his civic and ive seen dynos on it at 518 horse with titanium cv axles. ridiculous power.

well i never did get it dynoed but the kit that was on it was rated at that. slowboyracing.com was where i got the kit from. i was running 1000cc fuel injectors and 27psi of boost, just to give you an idea, and if you dont believe you cant get that much horse out of a 4 banger check this out:

same motor as mine, just alot more work done to it...

My gst had 425whp(22psi, water/meth injection, 75 shot of nitrous), its not hard to get power out of a dsm, the hard part is keeping them running. I skipped timing and destroyed my head and pistons, sold the car a month later. The entire build cost about 11k including the car.

Well, I've been in the ACVW world for a long time and know quite a few people with Flat-4 VW engines who like to go out and spank Mustangs and Camaros for grins. There have also been cars out there with 2-bangers and 3-bangers (ever hear of the old Crosleys?), so don't ASSume too much with this crowd
