I am in need of a new PCM; unfortunately I did not do enough research and got hosed by a company in Florida on a replacement. Anyone have any recommendations on where I can purchase a new one that is not over a grand at the dealer? I have found one on craigslist for a 98, I have a 2001, I am correct that I would just need to have it flashed at the dealer for it to work properly? Or should I pursue another avenue?

Hope that comapny in Florida wasn't ACE?? I had real good luck with them!!! They Called me like three times to make sure everything was good and returned my PCM in less than a week...

 

Yeah it was ACE; I am on my 4th from them and still having the same problems. Now they won’t send a new one out, they want me to send this one back so they can check it out. If you search the site there are several others who have had the same experience as I have.

 

One the fence for this one.It did take them a complete month to send mine(back order...what?).They did however let me know several times by phone and E-mail what was going on.I had the same stalling issues as before after I put their unit in.I replaced the Crank Position Sensor today to see if that was it.The PCM was priced well but the time it took to get to me was weird.Also I might add the replacement looked horrid.It looked like some one used a hole saw to open the back and then crudely put it back on all crooked with silicone or something and then spray painted over that.I did stare at it thinking holy****!!!.Just thought I would add something.Who knows,I might have ordered the PCM and not have really needed it.Might have been the Crank Sensor all along.Hope that is/was not the case.All I want is a truck that won't stall/shutdown on Main Street with 100 angry people flipping me off(Yeah,that did happen).
