Default Steering inspection for dummies on Ram 1500?? Help

Can anyone point to a link or provide me with what to look for in the 1500's steering as far as problems?

Track bar, sway bar, and steering stabilizers....I have no idea what they are.

A picture would be great. I just need the quick and dirty.

How do you tell of the trackbar is bad?

How do you tell if the sway bar is bad?

How do you tell if the steering stabilizer is bad.

Reason being I was going to take it in tommorrow to get the tires rotated and alinged but dont want to waster the money if the other stuff is out of wack.

THANKS!

download the 01 service manual here and look in the suspension chapter.

sway bars and steering stabilizers seldom go bad unless you bend one around a big rock or something.
track bars go bad on a regular basis, like every few years or more often.
bearings and ball joints go bad every 5-10 years.

the alignment shop will check it. if they say something is bad, ask them to show you. look for movement/play between non-rubber pieces.
