Oil Pressure
Brad,
I would rap on the sending unit to verify a change in the reading. Like I had stated earlier, mine was dropping out to zero as well and, it would bump up to 30, back down, up 50, back down to 20 etc.
All it may be is a fault / stuck sensor. Get a 1/2 Allen wrench and rap on it along with removing the connector and placing it back on. Then, move the wires right at the connector body where they exit. Make them straight up and down vs. being bent over at a right angle /over the side of the connector. Get back in, and fire it up and retest.
If the issue subsides, it's the sending unit. Try that first.

Thanks very much for the words. Man, i feel so loserish (sp) as I am building a 400 poncho for my Trans Am, yet, cannot locate this goddamn sending unit! - Point being, I am very mechanical, my, i will remove the air lid and stuff..
Thanks again

If you look at his link, it will give you a good idea of where the oil pressure sensor is.http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1998/18-48-98/18-48-98-v8.htm
