$38 , I would pass on that. Spectre makes a nice intake for a lot less than a K&N. And I could be wrong, but as far as I know, 03's did and don't come with 360's. 02 1500's don't either, just 2500's.

Not sure about 2003s, but I know 2002 1500s, despite technically being 3rd gens, did come with 5.9L (360) V8s. The HEMI didn't come out for 1500s until the 2003 model year. I suppose it may be possible there were some leftover 5.9L V8s that may have been offered cheaper then the HEMI for 2003 model year trucks. I didn't think that was the case, but you never know.

Pardon the possibly dumb questions, but do you know for sure its a 2003 model year, and do you know for sure that it is a 5.9L V8?

I have a Volant on a 2002.. It is a nice rig I suppose, and a left over from the previous owner..

Honestly, it's not like we're going to set the world on fire with these things- and the idea of cold air is a crock as far as I'm concerned.. I'd put a nice looking hat on it and walk if I were you..

btw- good luck with finding a hat.. there isn't much room between the TB and the cowl.. I bet a dollar to donuts that if you set up two identical trucks with similar builds/wear/tunes, and one had a CAI and the other a hat, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference other than possibly the sound of all that air being pulled through the tiny (relative) opening of the CAI..

Expensive wizz-bangs... pita filters...my advice is solidly "put your $$$ elsewhere"..

I am running just a Spectre HPr filter (cloth just like K&N) in my truck with the stock box. I only put the Mopar hat on when i am showing it off.

The stock airbox flows a lot of air if you have an oiled cloth filter. GIve that a try.
