evap sysytem hooked up right?
as you know the rear of the canister has 2 vac lines on it, they both go up to the engine bay, but the outter doesnt hook up to anything its just open ended under the firewall. is that right?
also, being that my canister began to leak charcoal, which lines need to be blown out? i was hoping not all of them, such as the one coming from the gas tank

If your canister is sucking up coal to the solenoid, you need a new canister. You can trace the one from the solenoid to the canister. At the canister, there's 2 connectors. One from the gas tank, the other goes to the solenoid in the engine bay. If you don't have the one from the gas tank, you will need to get that. Also, on the canister the connectors are 2 different sizes.
i have bought a new canister and solenoid. there is a line coming from the fuel tank to the cansiter, however there are two lines going to the engine bay, one goes to the solenoid. the other just stops right under the firewall
The other larger line just ends under the firewall. Some have a vented cap on them, some don't.
I don't understand why it would just end under the firewall, with or without a cap. Since manufacturers are always trying to find ways to "cheap out" on things, why would they spend the money to run a line to the front of the vehicle to just let it just sit there not connected to anything? It would save costs if they just left it off and let it "vent" at the charcoal canister. There must be something missing here...
