I have a customer thats replacing the cab on his 98 2500 extended cab long bed. The local yard has a 2001 ext cab with the opening rear door. I dont see a reason why it wouldnt be, but will the 01 ext cab with opening rear door swap driectly in place of the 98 ext cab without door? thanks

 

I don't see why it would not work. There may be some electrical issues if the dash and various other electronics are not used from the 98. Might be as simple as using a 2001 PCM. The dash also has the VIN#.
