Default Whats involved in replacing the Pinion bearing?

2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 4x4, 5.2l

I have a bad humming noise coming from the rear end when accelerating or decelerating, sounds like the pinion bearing to me and was planning to do it in school when shop time comes around.

Whats involved in replacing the Pinion and carrier bearings?
Are the Adjusters reusable?
Whats the best way to set the end play?

I've rebuilt alot of GM rear ends but im not to familiar with Dodge yet

I have the basic tools at school, press, torque wrench, slide hammer, anything else I need?

Special tool needed:
Strong impact wrench....for the pinion nut. I had to use a 3/4 drive electric impact to remove the pinion nut on my D70 rear. Eight foot of cheater bar wouldn't budge it.
