Default My muffler fell out!!

no it really did. took the down stream o2 sensor with it too. (it broke between the two.) bad weld i suppose. damn previous owners trying to safe a buck by doing themselves.

now i NEED a muffler and cant just take my time finding a really good one online, so i will just buy a shelf one for now. and its a toss up between thrush turbo or thrush welded. cant quite decide.

i know there is a muffler talk section, but neither of these are mentioned. what do you guys think?

Who needs a muffler. Mine fell off cus the previous owner cut out a 1inch hole on each pipe and used the slag as extra support for the holes.

Currently I have nothing from the cat to the back bumper.

Me too! Mine fell off last week, and I was happy. Saved me the work of cutting it off.

Maybe if Chrysler didn't make the mufflers weigh 80 lbs they wouldn't fall off.

A straight pipe does sound pretty good with a 318, but if you want a more "refined" sound, you'll want a muffler. My personal experience with turbo mufflers is that they will always leave you wanting a "little more" noise, or a "little different" sound. In other words, skip the turbo muffler. Thrush welded mufflers aren't a bad choice and are pretty cheap. You can find Flowmaster and Magnaflow mufflers locally as well, so don't rule them out.

I would take it to a shop and tell them what you want. Have the cat replaced with a high flow unit as well.
