Engine temp vs shifting
Hey all,
After AAMCO checking out my truck for a week, they replaced my thermostat and said that was causing the truck to stay in "closed loop" and making it shift weird. It was a 180 tstat that I changed when I did my plenum and SCT, but they said it was opening at 160. Anyways, the truck shifts good now.
Secondly, before I had my tranny rebuilt, I had to push the brake to shift out of park, and now I dont. I asked them to fix this, but they told me that it shouldnt need to brake pushed. I argued for a bit, and they wanted me to pay for it, I got sick of listening to spanglish talk, so I will just live with it. BUT, what would cause it to do this now?
I DO NOT recommend AAMCO for a transmission rebuild. I used them because I thought it would be nice to have a nationwide warranty, but they dont know their head from their asses. They have dicked me around too much.

Well, unless there is some kind of change or option, I have a 2000 and don't need to push the brake to shift. And have you not seen enough threads/replies here to know not to have Aamco do your tranny?
Well, it was either have a local shop in Missouri do it, then get stationed in NM without a local shop to deal with, or get a nationwide company. I guess getting a local shop that knew what they were doing would have been the better choice!
At least it work's. Depending on the tech's, I'm sure all AAMCO's are not created equal. And I could be wrong, but I've never heard of anyone having to push the brake pedal on a 2nd gen Ram to shift from park.
