Default loss of power in powerband??

hi guys just traded in my durango due to frame being bent to a 97 ram 1500 5.9l w/178k miles 305/70-r16. already got more mopar woes. got on parkway the other day and now noticing that when im in my higher powerband its like i have a complete loss of power but the motor is hauling ***. once i hit around 3200 to 3500 rpms its like i stop accelerating but i hear the motor going full boar untill dropping into OD than its like launching a drag car at the line. constantly get cyl 6 missfire while haveing the same problem .also i have a very low idle, around 4-500 rpm. did the cap rotor plugs and wires. with still the same problem. im thinking either a map sensor for misfire and low idle but would that have effect on power loss in powerband. or would that be a band issue in tranny?? thanks in advance !!! 5.2 to 5.9 same dumb engine just harder to get to the distributor. easyier to get to the plugs! lol

You have more pulling power in overdrive than 3rd gear, is that what you're saying? If so, sounds like trans may be slipping to me. Might try asking monte c, the trans specialist. Will probably need to change fluid and filter and have the bands adjusted and go from there.
