I have a 97 1500 w/ 360 auto (2wd). I've had it a few months, and it's always shifted firm. Lately (when it's cold) it winds out pretty hard before shifting to drive, when it's warmed up it shifts normal (still firm, but doesn't wind as hard).

Just wondering what I'm getting into here, is it a sticking govenor or is this the early signs of the typical dodge tranny failure?

If it's the gov, how hard is it to put in a new one? Is it in the tail shaft or main body?
