on my 01, i removed the column covers to expose the ignition switch. then unplug the little 2 wire plug.
this is the cleanest way, as it doesn't destroy the buzzer/chimer, nor the dome light switch, nor eliminate sounds associated with check engine, seat belts, low fuel, etc.
