Default transmission cooler lines

I have to replace both transmission cooler lines Went to parts store and got the four items listed for my truck 95 1500 4wd 59
-pressure hose ( one connected to forward port on trans)
-a connector to install in transmission port to accept new line
-a small section of the return line i think its the return
-a connector to install in transmission rear port with a special female connector

Questions
1 the connectors for the transmission ports seem to be different from the original ones which easily screw in all the way. The replacment ones seem to start to cross thread or they become tight within 1 -2 threads in
Has anyone exprienced this issue- the original seems to have more taper looks like the same threads

2 im assumimg that you can't but a steel replacement line for the return so i must have to make it with flex trans line based on the 2 parts store items anyone do this

it sounds like the fittings aren't the right threads. whatever you do, don't screw up the threads in the trans.

i'm confused. (and it may be your 95 vs my 01) but you should have 2 long steel lines from the radiator area to the trans. is there anything wrong with these steel lines - like rusted out or something. then you should have 2 short hoses about 3 feet long that connect the hard lines to the radiator. one of these hoses is crimped onto the hard line. the other has a fitting that screws into the stupid check valve.

a replacement kit from summit or dealer includes new hard lines and should be an exact fit.

a simple hose replacement is to cut off the old hoses, and attach new, generic hoses to the remaining hard pipes with clamps. i've done this as part of a cooler install. hose is $3/ft. unless the hard pipes are rusted or damaged, there is no need to change the pipes, unless you're doing the full kit...

one of the lines from summit. where is the other one ???

Both lines are rusted out, I have the one you looked at summit which is the one that requires a new connector( bad threads on the new one i have). Im going to order a new one. It sucks that I cant get one until Tuesaday but better be safe than sorry. I can't find the second line any where. Its the return so pressure shouldn't be that high.

someone recently posted about getting new lines for only a semi-expensive amount. i could have sworn they got both lines at summit or similar place.

see here for the fitting you need -

i wonder how much the dealer would charge for them?
