I am lookin to do an axle swap, among other future upgrades. just want to know if there are any mechanical differences between sport and non-sports? i have a 4wd with a 5.2l standard cab with auto trans and 4wd selector on the floor.
i had to replace the front right brake hose. 00'-01' are the only ones that fit. plus the stock air fliter has the valve cover hose go to the top instead of the bottom like the ones on 94'-99'. that is the reason i am trying to find if there are more diffrences.
dodgeram07 is correct. Those are differences in the 2000-2001 model years as opposed to earlier, nothing to do with the fact that its a sport model.
You'll find that there were a few differences/changes in 2000-2001 as Dodge prepared to switch to a new body style. Brakes were better, the Off-Road edition was offered, the exhaust system was changed, and various other smaller ones.
Your initial question was the difference between the sport and a non sport, in a 2001 model. Now you are asking the difference between different years throughout the 2nd gen. What years are you talking about?
Many things changed throughout the years. Most things after 2000 were the same, while there were some changes between 94-97-99.
also there are a few have rear disc brakes very few... very few
if your looking for half ton axles the "off road" pack have 4.10 gear
Maybe some of the experts here could confirm/deny this for me. I was on an engine specs website and they listed horsepower (2001 model) as follows:
5.2L Magnum 230 HP
5.9L Magnum 235 HP
5.9L Magnum 245 HP (Sport model only)
Gentlemen, what say you? LOL
