97 5.9 No acceleration

Default 97 5.9 No acceleration

Truck starts fine and idles fine but when I try to accelerate it stubles and surges

Could be many things, but first I'd want to check that catalytic converter.

Remove the pre-cat oxygen sensor(s) and take it for a spin. If it improves, you've got a bad catalytic converter. You can't drive around with the sensor(s) out, so if you determine that you've got a failed cat, replace it straight away.

If that's not it, try to gather more information about the failure and come on back.

Check the fuel pressure with a gauge. Was the o2 sensor replaced when the cat was? Does the cruise control work and do you have any issue's with your heater controls?
