You don't have to do both side's, it's not going to pull or anything if you don't. Just keep an eye on the other side and tackle the bad one first. You really should get a Haynes manual or download this https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-gen-rams.html read through the directions and see if you want to DIY, if you do, then anything you have a hard time with, we can help with that.
