(nobody makes 4.88 for the front- 4.56 is the deepest)..

i thought you were suppose to run the same gears in both front and rear right?

if not can i run 4.88 in rear and 4.56 in front and what will that do if i put it in 4wd? or should i just go with 4.56 front and rear?

Must be the same ratio or you can kiss the transfer case goodbye.

4:88 are available for both diffs so yep you can. What most are trying to say is that the dana 60 is more suited to larger tires like 38's

Available ratios for dodge 9 1/4 rear diff: 2.71, 2.79, 2.94, 3.21, 3.55, 3.90, 4.10, 4.56, and 4.88

Available ratios for Dana 44 front diff:2.72, 3.07, 3.31, 3.54, 3.73, 3.91, 4.09, 4.27, 4.56, 4.88, 5.13, 5.38,5.89

Well, I guess that I am a bit old-school with my speedo then, I am pretty sure that my 94 reads from the transmission for the speed, meaning that the gears do matter.
