Default need advice for torque converter removal on a 46re transmission

i need some advice and some input on how to remove the torque converter on my 46re transmission.

i have already removed the transmission but i am having a problem removing the torque converter as it is stuck. i have been twisting it back and forth while pulling on it but it will not come out. i know it is loose but it doesn't want to budge. does anyone have another technique or advice to try?

Did you remove the nuts holding it to the flex plate? And did you remove the crank sensor?

you have to wiggle the tc a bit while pulling and tugging. its pretty heavy so it takes a minute to come out...

thanks guys. yes i removed the crank sensor and took out the bolts that hold it to the flex plate. the problem i am having is that the torque converter is lodged in the bell housing. the books say its supposed to come right out but after alot of twisting and pulling its still giving me hell so to speak. guess i will continue to twist and pull until it comes out. thanks once again.

Setting the tranny up vertical helps. Keep wiggling, and keep pulling. It slides out.

It should come out pretty easily. If it's not, it could be that the input shaft splines got jammed in the TC.
