Cool rigging my map lights with some led's and single switch HELPPP PLEASE!!!!! :)

alright so i decided for a fun project and to make my lights stop rattling when my subs are on i would replace the dome light with led strips which turned out good and looks great, but im at the overhead map light assembly thing and im stumped, i have bought a push on/off button from radio shack and wiring some 12v individual led's into the map lights and making the lenses stationary, the main problem im having is all the wiring, from my understanding with a volt guage and what not, the black wire is ground (obviously) and the yellow one is 6v, and is the door open/close toggle because the voltage goes away when the doors shut and the pink wire is constant 12v correct? so what im trying to figure out is how to wire my button in so it would work like the push lenses, and wire it so the lights work like stock and turn on when the doors open...

problems im running into- lights being on constant voltage, switch doesnt switch lights on/off, and BLOWING FUSES >:/ so some help would be much appreciated... THANKS IN ADVANCE!
