Default exhaust questions, and advice needed..

I've searched until my eyeballs have cramped, and have found nothing really useful, so at the risk of scorn I thought I'd ask...

I've two more items on my overhaul list.. Exhaust and tranny.. I was supposed to have the tranny done by now- but I'm glad I didn't.. w/ the 4.56:1 conversion there is ZERO concern for the 150k original mile tranny- I'm thinking I can put that off a good while.. but to the exhaust:

I've already done hedman shorty headers.. they are working out pretty good (I guess).. but now I need to dump the OEM Cats for high-flows, replace all o2 sensors, and put a good flowing muffler(s) on her..

Currently I have two flowmaster 44's, running straight under the bumper.. I don't mind the bumper route, and will likely keep it.. I have cali emissions on this rig w/ two cats.. My question is: What are some good cat/muffler rigs for these machines that doesn't restrict top end but doesn't rob low end? I'm NOT into loud rumbling, but I can sure deal with it if it helps performance..

I'm trying to get stuff together for this weekend, and would love some feedback from folks who have experience with this.. thanks in advance..
