Default Ignition Switch Turns Past Start

Key turns way past normal position now... Time for a new ignition switch. My question is should I replace keys and door lock cylinders and be done with it or is there a way to keep my original key and replace the igition switch? No I'm not installing a push button... LOL

New switch does not come with key tumbler. You reuse that part of it.

It's easy, you have a Haynes? You'll need a set of security torx bits also.

depending on the year, there will either be a pin you push or a pin you pull. sometimes its a roll pin, and sometimes its a solid shiny little pin. try pulling before you try pushing because if its not the push in kind they will push into the hole just far enough to make your life a pain in the ***. dont ask me how i know. either way after you pull it or push it the whole ignition should slide right out into your hands. if it doesnt come right out, put your key in and turn it 1 click at a time and it should pop right out. hope that helps and if you have anymore questions, let me know

Right on. Thanks guys. I'm on the road now but that's first on the list of things to do when I get back. Security torx are the torx with the pins in the middle? If so I have a couple sizes. If not, I love buyin new tools.
