Price sounds kinda high,,,did you try and talk them down any? Like maybe offer 7500? Worst they can do is say no. I've never payed what someone was asking for a vehicle. Generally, people (dealers included) will take less than they're asking.

$8k seems high, Generally $8k is around a dealer price range, but this one has alot of mileage.

I wouldnt pay more then $7 but thats just me. Did you check craigslist for dodge rams in your area ? Thats how i found my 5.9. How did the underbody look ? Was there any rust on the frame or parts that shouldnt have rust. I would really keep looking for other trucks. For $9k you could buy a 04 ram from a private seller with hella lot less mileage.

Bought mine a few months ago for $6500 with 110k miles. I feel I overpaid a little.
My rear diff blew up a few weeks after I bought it. So add $1000 to my price for a complete rebuild and new limited slip locker....
My plenum gasket was blow (I didnt know about this forum when I purchased it) so add another $150, and I basically did a full tune up: hoses, sensors, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, all fluids changed, ect....

I may be into it close to 8k cash. More than I wanted, but I like the truck.

Moral of the story: BUY IT CHEAP SO YOU CAN AFFORD TO FIX IT LATER!!!

Bought my 2001 in March from a dealer. It had 107k on the odo, new mud-terrains, new Clarion stereo, and airbags in the back. I put $800 down, and did their in-house financing @ 4.8% for $5k. You're paying way too much.
