I'm going to have to fill up again soon because I've got 50 miles to go until the break in is over and I'm gonna rip into it a little so I won't get good mileage for the current tank.

I haven't tested it out yet. Well not intentionally anyway. I put both right tires on a patch of ice yesterday when I left work because it's there almost everyday and I tend to crunch it up when I leave. Well it wasn't just frozen on top like I thought, it was solid. The back right tire spun for a second then I was on my way.

I've been driving like normal for a while now and I haven't been reporting the mileage because I haven't ran a tank through the truck without introducing the pedal to the carpet at least once.
I didn't get on it as much for the last couple tanks but it isn't looking like the gears have affected the mileage at all.
Both of the last two tanks included a 120 mile run at 70-75 mph on the highway with the rest being rural driving.
The last tank was 12.06 mpg with Shell 89 octane and the 91 tune on the Superchips.
The tank before that was 11.86 mpg with BP 89 octane and the 91 tune.

Also, about the truetracs, I finally threw a jack under the driver side of the front axle and spun the tire as fast as I could and the drive shaft didn't move.

12.41mpg on the tank before last with a bit of idling around the yard getting 0mpg at the time (moving a boat around).
12.24 mpg on the last tank with a few carpet rubs on the back of the go pedal.

Kangaroo gas (89 octane) for the last few tanks.
Driving style and route driven hasn't changed.
The only thing that did change was the truck got a new IAT sensor.
Before the new IAT the average mileage was 11.82-11.87 mpg.

So you're saying that granny driving isn't saving a whole lot of gas. It bugs the shiznit outta me that accelerating without going above 2k takes damn near 5 minutes. If I let her run up to 2,300-2,400 area it's up to 55 much much sooner.

Getting up to 2300-2400 just before each shift does give you better mileage from what I've seen. It's got a simple explanation too.
With normal acceleration the truck gets up to 2300/2400 rpms twice in about 20 seconds, then it drops down to 2000ish rpms for about 5 seconds before kicking into overdrive.
Granny driving gets you up to 2000 rpms twice in something like 4 minutes before dropping into overdrive from 2000 rpms.
So you are running 300-400 rpms more for a few seconds before each shift until overdrive kicks in and you drop down to 1500 rpms compared to hanging out at 2000 rpms for a few minutes until overdrive kicks in and you settle down to 1500 rpms.
Lower rpms means less gas burned.

Yeah, it just seems like only getting up to 2,000-2,100 rpms is keeping her under load longer than needed.

12.42 this time.
I burned about 1/3 of that tank in heavy traffic with a bit of go-pedal to the carpet time.
The rest was rural driving.

12.3 this time.
I wonder how close it would get to 13 if I could keep from stomping on it for a whole tank.
