2500 leaf springs on 1500
will these be a simple bolt on and will i notice any lift...i am wanting around 3" lift on my 94 ram 2wd i am wanting to get rid of the blocks and gain a lil tow towing ability
its not a simple swap. stock 1500 leaf spring width is 2.5" 2500 is 3" and you have to match the shackle and spring perch width.
someone said the 2500 2wd might be 2.5" wide. i don't know, but you might look into that.
on my old chevy i went to the junkyard with the measurements of my stock springs and found some springs on a 2500 van that had the same dimensions. i took my spring pack apart and added in several extra leaves, longer center pin, u-bolts, etc and made it into the roughest riding buckboard you've ever seen. i might have overdone it a little.
you might just get another set of 1500 stock springs and double up a couple of your longer leaves.
