Default late shifting from 1st gear

Hi there, New to the forum.
I have a 1999 dodge ram 2500, and it does not want to shift out of first gear, unless I let of the gas, then it will shift. I changed the fluid/filter and replaced the trans speed sensor, still no dice. It still wont shift properly. any other ideas would be great.
OH i supose I should mention that this problem occured litteraly overnight.
i t worked fine one day, then the next day poof! no shift right.

thanks.

Try replacing the Governor Pressure switch and Solenoid(get them from a good tranny shop), and adjust the front band properly. If that doesn't fix it, then time for a rebuild. I'm in the same boat as you right now. Front bands, servo, clutch or whatever are shot.

If it is acting up by not shifting right, that would be your cue to look into the issue.
