Angry 2nd generation gas peddle sticking

i have a 96 dodge ram 1500 and i was driving to the store lastnight and i hit the gas alittle harder than usual and my gas peddle stuck. i hit the brakes and it slowed down alittle bit but it was still stuck. so i hit the gas again to see if i could get it unstuck before i ended up hitting something and it worked i tryed it a few more times and it kept happening does aqnyone have any idea whats going on ???

Just make sure nothing is blocking especially the floor mat edge

Check the throttle cable on the engine. Maybe the lever needs to be greased up or something

Scared the chit out of ya didn't it?
It happened to me once on the highway had to slam it in neutral then turn the engine off and swerve through traffic.

I oiled the cable near the TB.

Then it happened again.......

Check your cable at the pedal, and spray it with some lube it's probably rusty especially if you live in snow country.
Worked on mine.

Yeah....spray it inside the truck and under the hood and make sure the carpet or floor mat is not catching on it.

i would check to see if there is some type of throttle return spring. it might not be as strong as it use to be. i know on the older trucks there are 2 different springs that pull the throttle back to idle. they get weaker as the get older.
