lift kit ideas
Been there, done that!
On most factory trucks, the front sits lower than the rear. Measure the height to the center of the wheel well. My 96 1500 4x4 had 3" factory blocks in the rear so I put the 2.5 spacers on the front and changed the 3" blocks to 5 1/2" blocks(1 piece, no stacking). All of it came from Rough Country and included longer U bolts. I would go ahead and get the lift done first so you can make sure the new tires will not rub when installed!!

285's will not rub on stock suspension. with a 2" lift you can clear 35's ive done it. grenaded my transmission doing so, but ive done it. go with a leveling kit, or a 3" lift kit. go through topguncustomz, theyre great. they have great products and even better prices, imho. i have only bought shocks through them and im impressed with them. i will be ordering again soon.
I've been looking at both hellbent steele and at top gun customz. I havent made up my mind yet, both seem to have good products, but will be getting something soon. Thanks for your input guys. When i finally get it ill post some before and after pics. I have a few other issues i need to take care of first with the truck.
