Unhappy low idle/backfiring

Hey guys new to the forum,I hope this has not already been posted. The problem i'm having is this,I have a 97 ram 1500 5.9L that on occasion idles soo low that it's sometimes hard to hear the engine running!Driving to work the other night the truck seemed to lose power badly and start to backfire. Had to turn around and limp it home.Mileage is 120,000.All this happens spuraticaly and without warning.Low idle happened today(died three times) but without the backfire issue! No check engine light appeared.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Default

possibly the fuel pump starting to crap out .loss of fuel pressure will cause loss of power ,bogging, popping, and may affect idle .your cat could also be starting to clog but id lean more towards fuel pressure on this 1.
