4X4 car wash
I have a 2001 Ram 1500 4x4 and recently whenever I go through a car wash my 4x4 light goes on. It's not the normal brightness, it's kinda dim, but it's on.
When I'm out of the car wash and back on the road, I seem to notice more road noise which makes me think the 4x4 is engaged (but maybe I'm just hearing things). Eventually the light goes off and from what I can tell its back in 2 wheel drive.
If it helps any, when I go into the car wash the truck is in neutral, and all the wheels are rolling as its pulled through the wash.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be?
Thanks

A not so water tight connection for the plug on the 4x4 switch on the cad unit maybe?
Unplug that thing, spray some contact cleaner in the end of the sensor and the pigtail, put some dielectric grease inside it, plug it back in then slop some liquid electric tape on the back of the pigtail where the wires go into it at.

^ yep. perfect answer.
to understand and troubleshoot the cad system read this...
and understand that the collar slides back and forth under vacuum command.
vac on one hose in 2wd, vac on the other in 4wd.
very simple, but prone to fail.
