Default Checking codes

There have been alot of posts on checking the codes, but they all seem to be the on-off trick. One of the sites posted says that 97/98 (I think) and before can only do the on-off trick. I have a 99, 5.2, 4x4, I have been getting the check engine light and I want to check my codes. How do check them? Is there a way without going to the dealership?

Any Dodge Dealership will download your trouble codes for free. They'll even print them out and give you the most likely cause of failure if you want to repair it yourself. Anyone in the shop can do it, takes no time, and they have a possibility of getting you in there for repairs.
Hope this helps, Todd
