harmonic balancer wobble

Default harmonic balancer wobble

Hey guys.. need help.. on 99 ram think the harmonic balancer is bad.. when i start engine there is lots of clunking and vibration.. vibration worse when apply gas.. crawled under and notice that lots of play on harmonic balance.. i can wobble it around freely. its like not attached to anything..

if it is the harmonic balancer how easy is it to fix? I see alot of threads giving instructions but none with pics.. also when pull the part on AZ doesnt look like whats factory on truck

Deffinatly need to fix that. Straight forward job. Remove belt, unbolt pulley, remove retaining bolt and use a puller to pull it off.

Next time tell us what motor you have.

I assume it is a 360 and if so you have lost the rubber between the inner and outer balancer. Your motor is out of balance with that piece missing. Mine came apart like that this summer. I paid $25 for one at a junkyard and it was in excellent shape.
