I was wondering if you would mind posting a pic of the mopar timing gear set, I had a brain fart when I installed mine and did not take any pics of it.

 

If your springs are rated at .515, and you're right at 515 lift now, your going to be under sprung when you get some miles on those springs...If the 600s fit, I'd put em on, it's better to be over sprung than under.

 

what do you need to know?

 

when i called and talked to odessa(when ordering heads) they said that the springs were actually rated at 525. they just put up the 515 numbers to be safe. he told me that i should be plenty good. hopefully he is right. i am just going to go with it. now you have me worrying a little.

 

You'll be fine with .525 springs on your cam, and I doubt if your motor will see more than 5800 rpm, if that. I spin mine to 6400, so I worry about springs.

EDIT: On the Dakota R/T boards, when I first bought my truck in 2005, it was advised to use .525 springs with 1.7s and stock cam, use .600s with a mild cam install...The stock Magnum springs can barely keep up with a stock cam...This is from guys owning R/Ts since they first came out in 1998.

 

I don't need to know anything I would like a pic for my album and for referance for future, as i said in my post i have the mopar chain but i forgot to take a pic before i installed it. If it's a to big of a deal don't worry about it.

 

how about this pic. i am terrible about pics.and the gears are incorrectly lined up in the pic.if you look to the left of the big dot on the small gear, there is a small dot just below and between 2 teeth. that small dot on the small gear should be lined up with the big dot on the big gear for straight up. hope the link helps ya.

i thought the big dot was the standard position, using the standard keyway, and the the little dot had something to do with the extra keyways and the 4* advance or retard option.

 

Installing a cam "straight up" has always made me nervous, I always degree them in...Then you know 100% how it's installed.
