Default 2001 Interior Tow Mirrors/ later year options

I am new to the Forum and would like to say Hello to the members here. I have had many cars and trucks that I have built. I just got my 1st Ram 2500, a 2001 with the Cummins engine. I like the Cummins, pulls great and gets good fuel mileage.

I have had a few Ford 7.3 powerstrike trucks. With the 99 to 07 Ford trucks you can swap out a lot of body and interior pieces very easily. My 2000 F-250 is getting a 06 Harley Davidson interior which goes right in. Headlights, running boards, power tow mirrors with directional lights installed, grilles and bumpers all fit with little to no modifications.

Is Dodge the same way as Ford in being able to exchange interiors and other pieces such as tow mirrors and other body parts. I know the 02 and up Rams have completely different headlight setups and I had to go the Anzo route for my new headlights. Does Dodge make a tow mirror with the directional light installed as a OEM product? I like to buy factory pieces when possible for ease of installation mostly. I have seen late model Dodge Ram trucks that have great interiors. I would like to know if these very nice Dodge interiors would fit into my 01 2500.

All major car companies don't retool the entire truck/car when switching body/interior styles. They will change certain aspects of the platform truck/car but will keep most of the existing framework so they won't have to re-tool the entire production line. Thanks for the help and the great Forum.

First off, welcome.

For the most part, no you cannot swap things from newer Rams onto older Rams. And if you do, fabrication is required. The newer Dodges share almost nothing (except for the suspension on the 3/4 and 1 tons) with the elders. Dodge did not ever make a towing mirror that has a turn signal in it like your Fords (which BTW I love, the best mirrors ever put on a truck were designed by Ford) until the 2010 HDs came out.
