94 5.2 Stalling, stalling, stalling
Thanks guys.
I'm probably going to get another intake so the van's not out of commision for so long. Just found a bunch on Craigslist. (I have a great program called Craigslist Reader - looks for things on any CL in a county, state, or country anywhere in the world. i think you can still download it for free, and there are similar programs that do the same thing. Highly recommended - I got about 150 hits on "Dodge intake"). Maybe I'll mod both of them, and sell one. I have three pressure blast cabinets, one set up for plastic bead. Makes things look like the day they were cast or forged. I'll probably post some pics of my mod.
I had read SilverDodge's write-up. It seems to have been truncated - the version I had read before had a reply from someone who sounded very credible saying that the runners should have been cut off straight across, and not at an angle. Brian, it sounds as if you did the "straight across" thing, which I think I will do.
Page 5 of the eight-page thread https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-thread-5.html had a great excerpt from "Mopar Muscle" that included info about adding a heat shield to the cover on the bottom of the intake (whether stock, Hughes, APS, or PurplDodge Inc.) to keep the air/fuel mixture cooler. I might just do that too, what the hell. I love heat shields (but then you already knew that, didn't you Brian lol). Heat is the enemy (except when you're freezing your nuts off).
Dittos on the reinforced fiber Dremel wheels. Pricey, but so much more durable than the hard ones that certainly do love to disintegrate.
Thanks for all the help guys. I will definitely let you know if this makes my stalling problem go away.

Bumped to go along with my "interesting spark problem" thread. I think the two are related, or are the same problem.
As I said, this engine has had a gremlin in it for years now; maybe the symptoms will ring a bell with someone.

Oops, forgot to post the resolution to this problem. It was in fact the same problem as my "interesting spark problem"; a bad crankshaft position sensor (CKPS).
Both these problems (stalling, and weak/erratic spark) attained the "critical mass" point where I had to do something about it instead of just curse and crank-crank-crank when the coil went bad too, and the engine would hardly run at all.
New crank sensor and vroom, it's running like a dialed-in Formula 1 car.
One of the biggest lessons from all this is that crank sensors don't either work or not work; they can get progressively bad at "reading" certain cylinders (the little cut-outs on the flywheel actually) and send faulty information to the PCM, causing the coil to not build up a good enough charge to send a strong enough spark to a particular cylinder or cylinders.
Thanks to everyone who helped.

. Started to get worried a couple times but this is a tremendous help. I do have 1 ? Did the symptoms come "all of a sudden" out of nowhere like literally?
