Default will this work?

I'm looking at a 1997 1500 ram to buy ....but it needs an automatic transmission..... I have a 94 1500 ram and a 98 1500 ram.... would either one of the transmissions that I have work in the 97??

Yes, one will work, but i forgot which one. I know that my 1996 has the RE and my 2001 has the RH. But i forgot when the years changed. I believe it was 1998, but wait for someone else to chime in.

Good the 98 is the parts truck I have for my 94 project build... the 97 I just found at a local car lot for $450 bucks.... its an extended cab with a really nice body... it needs a wheel bearing, break lines and a transmission.... I figure I can buy for a cheap build and give it to the wife
