Default 46re Trans missing Accumulator spring.

I dropped down my valve body to check the boost plate and sure enough it was not updated and found that the small accumulator spring on the top side of the accumulator was not present. My trans has been rebuilt by the previous owner by who i don't know. Is this a common thing to leave that spring out?

Yes, makes for a firmer shift.
EDIT: But there should be a rod....

Do you mean a rod on top to limit the upward travel? The same length as the factory spring i am assuming.

If your truck came from the factory with the towing package, it never had the small acumulator spring anyway. Found that out a few weeks ago while dealing with mine.
