Default Security system .vs dome light

Hi folks. I am driving an 01 Ram 1500, extended cab, 4 WD, etc. When I purchased the truck as used I noticed the dome light bulb had been removed but never paid any attention as to why that was. Dark is better, less of a target that way.
Now that I have had a security system installed the installers were not able to arm the driver side door as it gives a signal that the door is open. I tried the easy fix first and popped in a new door jamb switch and of course it didn't help. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be?

Thanks, Julie

I was wiring up some new lighted sun visors and accidentally made a short that blew the IOD fuse. That fuse handles the interior lighting and other things too. Anyway while that fuse was blown I couldn't arm my alarm, it always gave me an extra warning beep like when I try to arm it and the door is open.

So I don't know, maybe there needs to be a bulb there to complete some circuit for the door switch?
