Default Have an electrical short

Hopefully somebody can help. I have a 1997 Dodge Ram with an electrical short somewhere. The only thing that doesn't work is the rear driver side running light. All the other running lights work, I checked the wires that run along the steering column, checked the headlight switch, checked the relay, checked the fuse etc..... I am at a loss..... has anybody else had this problem?

did you check the bulb? if it is just the one running like the problem should be between where the power wires in the back split and the bulb.

Buddy of mine (who drove a 96 ram) had this same problem. Turned out to be a short in one of the wires on the pigtail end (thing the bulb goes in). Its easy to check for this: remove tail light, turn pigtail so that it will come out, turn on running lights and wiggle the pigtail back and forth in your hand. If it comes on intermittently, the pigtail, or more specifically, one of the wire connectors therein is loose. We just cut and spliced one from our local pick-a-part (~$10).

Solved his problem, hope it can be that easy for you. If its not that or the bulb itself, the only thing i'd know to do (and someone will porbably be along with an easier idea) is to whip out a volt meter and back check the wires all the way back to the fusebox to find out where its shorting.
