I always reach for CRC Freeze Off. I used to use Knock'er Loose but I can't find it any more -- I assume that Freeze Off is Knock'er Loose with refrigerant added.
I have used PB Blaster for years, and have had medium success with it. I love the smell of it, but the smell doesn't get frozen nuts broken loose. Based on a recent thread of mine some recent brands were suggested. I am currious as to what ya'll use as the most dependable nut breaking loose spray.
I have had the same luck with PB unless I sprayed whatever I was going to work on the day before, twice about 10 minutes apart and then sprayed it again the day of, before I started working on the rusted piece. I recently did this with my front bumper, all the bolts were rusted on, I couldn't budge them dry and did the above method and was able to get them all free. If all else fails heat always works.
Have been using pb blaster with pretty good results over the years, however after discovering and reading this forum, I am considering trying some different ones
beware of the shelf life of open mousemilk - far less than 30 days. i guess the acetone or similar thinner evaporates out.
Opened Container:
Product will develop light brown tint within 30 days. Airborne particles will contaminate the product and the volatile ingredients will dissipate rapidly. Product will become ineffective as penetrating oil after 30 days.
I was using WD-40 till I joined this forum a few years ago, then was turned onto PB Blaster by someone here, and now I'm gonna try some Aero Kroil I found.
You'd think with working on the rusty S-10 my dad has and all of the damn Chevies I work on, I would have formed an opinion on penetrants by now, but nothing so for.
