Smile hmmm

i have a 1995 dodge ram 1500 3.9 v6 burns oil .i just bought the truck 5 days ago.changed oil plugs wireset drove less than 300 miles truck had no more oil int oil pressure droped oil light came on had a mechinc look at it he said the rings are shot now when i rev the motor oil shoots out of the tailpipe 2 feet from truck my question is is it the rings . by the way it dont leak any oil i checked by parking in fresh snow no oil on valve covers or under vechile thanks in advance for any answers

Sounds like rings to me. Not to mention a totally hosed catalytic converter. Hope you didn't pay much more than scrap value for the thing.

thanks for the quick response. i have found another motor for a good price. and getting it installed for a cheap price family mechanic. ill have a couple hundred more than i wanted in it. but the frame and body is in good condition. although its only a two wheel drive truck .i kinda like it. its roomy and a standerd cant beat those 5 speed. former chevy lover. i had a 5 speed s-10 4x4 canda truck ate the pavement .my brother has a v8 magnum dodge 4x4 and it rips the pavement up. same year.
