Default A Locker inside, or do I have a problem?

While I haven't popped off the rear diff cover to check yet, and plan to do so, I thought I'd ask this question. When slowly rolling, with the wheels slightly turned, our '98 2500 4x4 has a small thump thump thump coming from the rear. When I walk beside it, and hold my hand on the side wall of both rear tires, I can feel it as it does it, and also can feel it in the seat. Not in the wheel. When we crank the wheel, it isn't nearly as strong... also not really felt when rolling straight, except at braking.

We turned the rear drums, and the tires are new. Just curious if it sounds like a previous owner installed a locker in the rear. The truck came with a limited slip, and still has the tag for that. I found traces of red RTV at both axle ends. Hope it doesn't turn out to be something major. While a locker in a tow rig isn't what we wanted, we'd accept that. Now, I had a Detroit EZ 'lunchbox' locker in my old Cherokee's Dana 35, and we'd get a 'click click click' on turns, but it was was as feelable. Maybe a full locker in a 60 makes a stronger action?

I'll dig deeper after I get other tasks done, like front rotors, sender units and fluids.
