Default help to confirm something

verifying heater core is ok. the other day i smelled the slight smell of antifreeze coming from the passenger vent when i was unloading some stuff from that side of the truck. i thought it was the heater core. today when i was getting my magnum inspected i talked to the guy there and he said you can rule out the heater core if you run the defrost and increase the fan speed and look for fogging of the windshield. i came home, fired up my truck and ran the defroster as he suggested..dry and warm. i am hoping this means that the heater core is ok. plus i didn't smell antifreeze.

am i good to go?

time will tell.
there is no other explanation of anti-freeze smell in the vents except a leaking heater core. sometimes the leak starts very very very slow and intermittent, and then unfortunately - gets worse.

external leaks from water pump, freeze plugs, etc can drift around. check your coolant level regularly.
