Is there a way to get trouble codes using the ignition?

No problem. We were all new once upon a time, you have to start somewhere.

One piece of advice to start you off with... in the black bar right above where it says "2nd Gen Ram 1994 through 2001 Rams" on this webpage, there is a link titled "User CP" which stands for User Control Panel. From there, you can give yourself a signature. Put your truck's info in there (model year, 4x4 or 4x2, trim level, engine size, etc.) and the forum will automatically attach it to every post you make. That way when you have a problem, you don't have to tell us what model year/trim/etc. you have every time.
