Default removing ac compressor for bypass pully

the pully arrived today. i was wondering if there were any tips out there. im sure my lines are full of holes so i dont think its pressurized . the system has been shot for years. how can i make sure? can i just disconnect the hoses, replace, then just tie them off? have never disconnected ac system before. i just need to get past the compressor so i can use the truck.

thanks

4 Bolts, a couple connectors, and the 1 bolt that holds the hose.

But why take it off? You know the compressor has a clutch?
