Default Front drive shaft squeel

Was driving along today when i noticed a loud rather nasty sounding squeel coming from under my truck. we managed to trace it down to the front drive shaft, and i believe from that double yoke near the transfer case. mechanic thinks i might need to replace the drive shaft. Anyone have any input? is there any chance of my just replacing/ rebuilding the shaft?

The DBL Cardan joint is rebuildable . Get the parts online or go to a driveshaft shop and have them do it or sell you the parts.

Does it squeak in 2wd? Normally it only does that in 4wd. Better check every thing again.

nope squeaks in 2wd too. looking again it might be from the front universal, kind of hard to tell. The drive shaft seems to be turning when i'm in two wheel. not sure if this is a vacuum problem due to th bad check valve or if something else is wrong

Remove it and see if you still have the noise. That's the best way to check the shaft anyway.
