1.7 Rocker arm question
Why not click on the link and find out for yourself to see how much they are? What next, you'll ask someone here to install them for you?
the throttle responce is quicker and when time to pass on the interstate i have lots of power that was not there yesterday. i stilll have to fix my plenum but that will have to wait for the first of the month when i get my gov't check. LOL tax return!
i am scared to just stomp on it from a dead stop as my tranny is unknown! meaning i dont know what it might do.

im thinking of getting some rr's, but im also thinking of replacing push-rods and springs, can these be replaced while the rockers are of? or do i have to pull the whole head to gain access to these?
the reason im thinking of replacing all of those is cause i have a slight tap-tap-tap... noise coming from the top back of my motor, which im thinking is a lifter or bent rod.
everything looked clean and straight when i did my plenum last year, but i could only see a fraction of the rod.

acttually to change the springs with the head on you have to remove the old rockers and pull the spark plug and attach a fitting that allows you to add air to the cylinder. you have to add enough air pressure to keep the valve up when you realease the keepers on the valve. it is time consumeing but it works. also you can take the rods out (one at a time) and roll them on a flat surface to see if they are straight. if you do go ahead a change the springs besure to change the valve seals as well.
i thought about it myself and asked around and i was told to just leave them alone. if the pushrods are straight then all is well. just my 2 cents

Bigbird - that passing power is good news for me. I've got one of those trucks that don't even see a gravel road. I bought it the way she looks. My truck is a weekend driver getting me to off duty jobs. Here in Phoenix you can drive about 2 1/2 hours across town and still be in the concrete jungle. I'm one of the weird ones who want more umph (I realize I'm not going to keep up with my wife's 740i) but more mid to high rpm range.
Getting a complete reman'd tranny / torque converter was the best peace of mind I bought in a long time. It was spendy but I know I have a nice warranty to back it. Get it done and you'll love your truck even more!
