Questions bout Ram Sport
i beleave the sport is higher and made more for offroad uses. I also beleave some of them have a higher gears (4.10) and stock has (3.55). dont hold me to that though. can someone elts agree or disagree with me.
As greenmachine said, the only advantage to a sport is bumpers, grill, and taillights match the truck color. On 99-01 sports the front bumper is not a standard bumper it is a molded plastic over some support. The grill is different shaped than a standard grill. Also get some fancy stickers and I think 265 tires come standard.
A sport does not sit any higher due to suspension modifications. It may be a bit taller compared to something with 245 tires but not because of suspension. Also it doesn't mean anything on the gearing because I have a 5.9 auto with 3.55 gears.
Some sports also have the off road package which has diff. shocks and 285 tires and they do sit higher. Hopefully this clears up everything.

I'm not positive on the year it started, but I do believe the 01+ sport models had 2 bulbs per headlight instead of one. I know a lot of guys swap sport housings into non-sport trucks. It's something I will be doing sometime after winter.
My '98 has the trailer tow package and has 3.91s with a suregrip. It also has 265 tires. A friend of mine has a '98 SLT without trailer and his has 3.55 open rear with 245 tires. When we park side by side mine is a little taller. My guess is the tires like said before.
