Where does it say that in the DF service manual?

pg 24-3 specifically states "rapid compressor clutch" as being a problem.

I'd like to know where you are getting your facts.

That's when the AC is on for God sake! It may not state in the FSM what the compressor does when the HEAT is on, but it is common knowledge that it cycle's when the heat is used, particularly when Defrost is in use.

I guarantee it's low on freon. If the OP refills the compressor with 134 and turns on the HEAT, it won't rapid cycle any more.

and yes it WILL cycle with the heat OR A/C on (obviosuly).....but it shouldn't be rapid cycling, which is shown as 10 or more times in one minute....

If the 134a was low, it would cycle when he has it on MAX AC also, he say's it does NOT cycle then. The OP also doesn't say anything about RAPID cycling, just that it cycles with the heat on.

^^Implies that it's "rapidly" cycling

The op should turn the AC on, count the cycles, and if it's over 10 in one minute then he is more than likely low on 134.]

op was talking about AC NOT the heat

Whatever! Other then the fact it's freezing cold out and the AC will cycle fast when on a lower setting when it's already cold out! THE OP WAS ORIGINALLY , talking about AC cycling when heat on, NOT AC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the the 134A was low, it would cycle for sure when turned to Max AC. Think what you want how the system works. Fords And Chevy's operate the same way in years of comparison.

He was talking about the heat and partial A/C. Max A/C did not result in any cycling.

After mine was filled completely to its recommended level, mine still did it. Maybe there is a switch or something else wrong with mine, but I can guarantee its not the 134 level.

Yes, if it's full of 134 and still cycling more than 10 times a minute, the next possible problem could be the A/C switch.

There was nothing wrong with it to begin with, that's why.
